I am now a parent of a middle school student. I can't believe it, and Abbie couldn't be more excited. We attended Abbie's promotion ceremony last Thursday evening, and it was AMAZING! They sang a few songs and presented a few awards. It was an exciting evening and of course when she walked in with the Graduation theme song playing I shed a few tears. I did that at Aliza's preschool graduation too. I tear up way too easily when it comes to my kids.
This is Abbie's whole graduating class of approximately 160 kids. Yes, this is a bragging moment because I am so proud of her. We went not expecting awards, but she was surprised with two BIG awards.
First, they chose only 5 students to receive the Principals award for the whole graduating class. Each pack teacher chose one student to receive the award for outstanding behavior and accomplishments and our Abbie received the award. She is an amazing student, and even her teacher afterward told her that she definitely deserved it.
Then on top of that she was awarded with the choir award. One student out of the choir was chosen and it was Abbie. So out of seven trophies given that night our Abbie went home with two out of the seven. I am one proud mom.
This is Abbie's sweet writing teacher Mrs. Whitley who really encouraged her with her writing this year. She was saying afterward that it was so hard to keep the awards a secret from Abbie. :)
This is the school choir teacher Mrs. Canfield who is also wonderful. She said "Man you kind of swept it Abbie" which I thought was cute. It was a wonderful 5th grade year, and I can't wait to watch Abbie grow and amaze us more in middle school. We love you Abbie!
